Oldest son of Teresa (Fraser) Williams, and brother to Jean, Jimmy B. Williams was an Orioles coach from 1981 through 1987. He was born 5/15/26 in Toronto. He graduated from DeLaSalle High School in Toronto.
He married Lorraine Elliott on 9/21/50, and had two sons, Chris (born 6/10/52) and Kirk (11/11/56) and one daughter, Julie (2/19/61). He had lived (and may still live) in Pueblo, Colorado for many years.
In terms of his baseball career, he played for 18 seasons (1947-1964) in the Dodger organization, but never played in the majors. He managed for many years in the minors: from 1963-1964 in the Dodger farm system, from 1965-1969 in the Athletics farm system, from 1970-1974 in the Astro farm system, and from 1976-1977 in the Dodger system again. From 1978-1980, he was a manager for the Orioles in the minor leagues.
In 1975 he was a third base coach in the majors for the Astros. And, as noted above, he coached first base for the Orioles from 1981-1987.
His sister Jean tells me that one of his sons is now a Brigadier General in the Unitied States Army.
