Heather [Fraser] Gray

As of 1999, I ceased to be simply myself, and now cannot be described outside of the context of my loving family. My husband, Jeremy, and I had our first beautiful boy, Alexander Julian, on September 21, 1999. At five months he passed away from an unsuspected heart condition.

Fortunately, on December 22, 2000, our lovely daughter, Natasha Serenity, was born strong and healthy.

When she grew to 2 and 1/2, on June 9, 2003, she gained a beautiful brother, Griffin Isaac, who is alive and growing well. And who is putting the telephone on top of his head and saying, "rar rar da-da!" and hanging it up.

Since the birth of our first child we have gained deep convictions about parenting and life. We try to live actively, sensitively and compassionately. Our philoshopies are best described by Barbara Kingsolver, Dar Williams, Jane Goodall, Raffi, John Holt, and Mahatma Gandhi (I bet these people never thought they'd find their names in the same sentence).

Besides my family and friends, I have a love for poetry, folk and jazz music, art, dance, language, children, quirky science facts, the earth, organic food and farming, coffee and tea time, moomins, tokay, floo powder, card games, fillyjonks, pantalaimon, crosswords, snufkin, pente, diaper services, roma tomatoes, my pune, oonerspisms, fair trade and camping.
