The following is an
organized listing of some of the essential information needed to
begin to understand the Fraser and other clans within Scotland and
the impact of those clans on our own country of Canada. As a Canadian
beginning to research our family background, but with little
knowledge of the history of the land of my ancestors, I would have
found a listing such as this an invaluable starting point. However,
caution needs to be exercised because the list and the information it
contains was not prepared by a qualified historian. While every
effort has been taken to ensure the accuracy of the information,
primary sources were not used and errors of emphasis and
interpretation are likely. Also, the focus here is on the history of
Scotland, not the modern state it has become. You have been warned,
